These quick classes allow you to get an idea of what a specific technique might entail. You will leave the class, knowing a little more about glass with your very own piece to take home. No previous experience required!
Come and create 4 unique tiles using a variety of ‘inclusions’. Inclusions are things that you can sandwich in between two pieces of glass- that wont burn away in the kiln! Inclusions you will learn to use in the workshop will include copper sheet, mesh, wire, foils, mica, copper oxide and many others. You will create 4 small pieces that can be framed or used like coasters, or a larger piece.
All materials are provided. No experience of glass necessary.
Introduction to Glass fusing
In this one day class you will learn how to cut glass and how to form your own design, using glass pieces, frits, powders and inclusions . This piece will be fired (flat) and then slumped to create a free standing form or bowl of your choice.

Come and make your very own tea light holder from scratch using the ancient technique of pate de verre. You can pick whatever colour glass you like, all materials are provided and no previous experience with glass is necessary!
After firing the tea lights can be cold worked to sit flat on a surface or you can purchase a purpose built wooden plinth for it to sit on.

Beginners Glass Evening Class
Over the course of 4 evenings we will explore many different aspects of glass fusing. You will learn how to cut glass, fire a kiln discuss the principles of writing firing schedules and will experiment with the effects of heat on glass through the completion of different weekly projects. You will leave the course with many finished pieces and samples.
No experience required and all materials supplied.
